I had problems with my eTrex HC and the Mac web updater hanging on "loader". The Garmin Mac support in Canada told me that the unit and not the uppdater were at fault. So I exchanged the unit and same problem occured! I pressed power and pushed up on rocker key, the Mac uppdater recognized the unit but after three attempts still would hang on loader. I solved the problem by using the above method and getting hold of a Win PC with success, thanks

Hello I tried and not work for me, I have 276c… itself the procediientos so what but nothing when finishing the installation of the update my gps does not initiate it is in the beginning screen that is a little opaque…

I Have a GPSMAP 420S, this unit only have SD CARD slot, not USB. Anyone know how can I reload Firmware? I upgraded to version 4.1 and the unit now only shows Garmin Welcome screen and "Updating Software", but never ends. Please Help!! It’s my fathers GPS and Him will kill me if i don’t fix it!

I'm still trying to get my Legend CX back to life. It lost Software, and failed when i reloaded firmware.

Worked for an Etrex Vista (non color.) unplug usb-to-serial adapter, remove batteries & replace, replug-in adapter. Hold joystick up, hit power and released while holding the joystick up the entire time. Updater software searched for new com port, found. Asked if I wanted to overwrite the firmware – said yes. It went through the sequence to success.

we were the same way as kids as Seattle doesn’t have subways, so when I would get the chance, ditto, made it into a carnival ride!
